The St. Xavier's College Physics Department is one of the best places in India for research and education in physics. Our undergraduate students every year achieve excellence in their subject learning and application.
The department has 9 permanent faculty and more than 300 undergraduate (BSc) students. We have a postgraduate (MSc) program where 40 students are enrolled. We have project based learning implemented across all the years and courses. We have programmes like PROBE and JIGYASA to promote creative research among students. Our students and staff publish and present a large number of research papers every year and many get awarded. Our students intern in major institutes all across India.
The Department has been the source of innovation in physics education for decades. Specially after autonomy we have been able to innovate constantly. I am sure you will find this place academically creative and challenging.

Make Your own CV
For students CV matters when they apply for PG/PhD courses or a for a job. Here they have an opportunity to choose project topics to propel their career. For example, if one is interested in astrophysics he/she can select project topics of different courses which leads to astrophysics and make a unique CV for their future progress. What more? They can also control the difficulty level of their project making learning suitably paced.
